The bakery and the roastery

Scout Coffee opened in January 2014 on Garden Street in downtown San Luis Obispo. What started as a single little shop has grown into 4 locations, along with a scratch-made bakery and coffee roasting operation. We have nearly 100 team members who work hard every day to make sure you love your experience here.

Scratch made pastries every day, craft roasted coffee, house made syrups and almond milk, a carefully curated shop, and service with a smile.

Our goal has always been to create inspiring spaces with great people and amazing products, in a way that truly adds value to the communities around us.

Scout is family owned. We hope you love it here.

It started on Garden Street

The first cafe opened in a brick building in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo.

Foothill followed, in University Square just outside the Cal Poly campus, with a large lot and mountain views from the patio.

The bakery bakes for every shop

Everything in the case is made from scratch in Morro Bay every day and goes out to all 3 cafes. The croissants run on a 3 day lamination process.

Sandwiches are on house-made bread. The syrups and the almond milk are made in house too.

Come see the Roastery

HoneyCo Coffee Roasters is our sister company, and it roasts every coffee we serve. It sits behind glass in the Morro Bay shop, in full view of the cafe.

If you want to see how your coffee is made, come sit where you can watch it.
