Camping in Big Sur

We used to take as many backpacking trips into the High Sierra as we could manage each year from late spring to fall.  But with Scout and HoneyCo both still relatively new, along with our 2 little girls (Lilly 3, Everly 4 months), we decided it might be a good idea to get out and do some car camping over the next few years.

Last weekend, we had a chance to get a quick trip in, so we went up to Limekiln on the Big Sur coast for 2 nights in the redwoods.  We met up with some of our good friends from Verve, and Sara’s long lost high school friends from Ohio!  We all drank tons of coffee, made lots of great food on the camp stoves, had a hungry skunk visit camp while we were all hanging out by the fire, and somehow even made it up the trail to see the waterfalls with the little ones. A successful trip all around, and just really amazing to live in SLO where we can get to a place like Big Sur in under 2 hours on one of the most scenic drives you can make.
