SLO Life Magazine

When we moved to San Luis Obispo 4 years ago, SLO Life Magazine was a big part of how we learned about the amazing community here in San Luis Obispo.  Now, almost 4 years later, it’s such an honor to have been featured on the cover.  Here’s the story for those that may have missed the issue!

Scout Coffee Foothill -- Drink it in sign

Scout 2 / 880 E. Foothill Blvd.

We just opened up our second location at 880 Foothill Blvd on August 2!  Lots of stories to come about all of the details and our process, but here are a few opening photos, along with some of the video clips we took as we built it out.

Our hours at this location are: 6:30a – 7:30p.

We are excited to be here and are looking forward to the life this new location takes on as it grows.  Thanks so much for all of your ongoing support!

NY Times

Thanks to the New York Times for including us as the “stylish” coffee & pastry stop in their 36 hours on the Central Coast article!  We are proud and honored to be a part of such an amazing small business community here in San Luis Obispo, and just think there’s no better place to live and work.  And if you find yourself visiting the Central Coast this summer, we’d love to take care of you while you’re here!

Here’s a link to the article.

Barista Magazine

Barista Magazine is the big industry magazine for what we do here at Scout, so we were really excited that they wanted to do a write up about our start-up process and buildout.

If you’d like to check out the article, you can see it here!

Officially Open!

We’ve been open for just over a week now, and it’s been a blast.  Thanks to everyone who’s been able to make it down! Here are a couple photos from this morning, for anyone who hasn’t had a chance to see the cafe in action.

We are planning on having a grand opening party this weekend, so stay tuned here, on our newsletter and on instagram for details!

The Lumber Yard

Don Seawater is the lumber man in SLO — he owns Pacific Coast Lumber, and has a line on all the good stuff.  On a foggy morning a couple days ago, he showed us around his yard with our friends Ryck, Matt and Jenn who introduced us all. We went to PCL looking to find some lumber for building bar tops, table tops, an outdoor living wall, and to face the front of our bar.  We left blown away by the generosity and helpfulness of all of these people.  Stay tuned for some truly amazing wood work that will help make Scout such a great place to enjoy your coffee.  We can’t wait.
